Department of German Language and Literature

Theologia (Theano) Traka is an Assistant Professor for German Literature at the Department of German Language and Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She studied in Austria, Greece and Germany. She has a Degree in Translation from Ionian University, a Teaching Certificate in German as a Foreign Language from the University of Hannover and a PHD in Intercultural Relations and Literature from the Ionian University (Department of Foreign Languages,Translation and Interpreting). She has taught at the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, at the Ionian University, at the University of Ioannina and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.She has also worked as a freelance translator for Greek and German institutions and enterprises. She has authored three books and several articles. She has participated in conferences in Greece and abroad. Her research interests are related to philhellenism, intercultural relations and literature translation.
