Evi Petropoulou is Associate Professor of 20th Century German Literature and Comparative Literature at the Department of German Language and Literature of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She studied German Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Comparative Literature, Modern German Literature and Linguistics at Saarland University, where she received her doctorate, supported by scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). Her list of publications contains several works, including a history of Greek literature for Suhrkamp Verlag. Main areas of research: comparative literary criticism, literary theory, German-Greek literary relations, relations between German literature and world literature, urban modernity, theories of memory and memory techniques.
