Katherina Mitralexi is Professor for German Literature. She studied in Germany at the University of Freiburg (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg) German Literature, Classical Archeology and Ancient History (1974-1980, Master of Arts in 1980) and was awarded a DAAD Scholarship (German Academic Exchange Service) for her studies. She continued her research at the University of Freiburg as a PhD student of Prof. Gerhard Kaiser and received her PhD (Dr. phil.) in 1983 (PhD dissertation title: “Über den Umgang mit Knigge: zu Knigges „Umgang mit Menschen“ und dessen Rezeption und Veränderung im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert”).  Her research interests revolve around German Literature of the 18th and 19th Centuries, Literary Reception Theory and Intertextuality, Greek-German Literary Relations, Reception of Antiquity, Theory of Literary Genres and Narratology.
