Katherina Mitralexi is Professor in German Literature. Having won a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship between 1974 and 1983, she studied German Literature, Classical Archeology and Ancient History at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg in Germany where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in1980, while she was awarded her Dr. phil. in 1983. Her PhD dissertation titled “Über den Umgang mit Knigge: zu Knigges „Umgang mit Menschen“ und dessen Rezeption und Veränderung im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert”, was supervised by professor Gerhard Kaiser. Her research interests are primarily in the area of German Literature of the 18th and 19th Centuries, Literary Reception Theory and Intertextuality, Greek-German Literary Relations, Reception of Antiquity, Theory of Literary Genres and Narratology.
