Maria Koliopoulou
Maria Koliopoulou has been since 2021 an Assistant Professor at the Department of German Language and Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She first studied at the German Department at the University of Athens before receiving her Master’s Degree in Contrastive Linguistics and Language Variation from Patras University. She continued her studies at the same University to earn a PhD degree in linguistics, specialising in Contrastive Morphology (2013). She worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Bielefeld University in Germany (2013-2014) financed by a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service’) research scholarship. Between 2014 and 2020 she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Translation Studies at Innsbruck University in Austria. In February 2020, she took up a visiting professorship at Lyon 2. She has been since 2020 an associate member of the Research Centre in Applied Linguists at Lyon 2 University (CeRLA). Her main research interests focus on contrastive linguistics with emphasis on Greek and German, morphology, word formation and terminology.
