Ioanna Karvela is Assistant Professor in the Department of German Language and Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has concluded her basic studies in German and Greek Language and Literature at the University of Athens; then she obtained a German state scholarship for postgraduate studies at the University of Siegen (Germany), where she got her PhD in Kontrastive Linguistics. The theme of her doctoral dissertation is: “The Foreign and the Ours. Evaluation of the position of foreign words in German and Greek language”. Her research and scientific interests include Lexicology, Textlinguistics and his applications in the Didactics of the German language (http://scholar.uoa.gr/ikarvel/Publications).
Ioanna Karvela is a member of the Institute for German Language (Gesellschaftfür deutsche Sprache), based on Wiesbaden, Germany and office manager in the Athens Department of this institute.
